1. Jadeja has never been a captain in senior-level cricket
The first major problem CSK will have to deal with is leadership inexperience. While Jadeja might be a long-term servant of the team, captaincy is something that is very new to him. Infact, Jadeja has never been the captain of any senior-level team, with his last captaincy gig coming way back in 2007, at the U19 Vinoo Mankad Tournament.
2. Dhoni’s quick decision-making will be missed
T20 is a game of pace and speed, and in terms of captaincy decision-making, there is hardly anyone who is quicker than MS Dhoni. Hence, it will be interesting to see if Jadeja can emulate Dhoni’s speed as a captain.

3. Toss Factor – Will Jadeja be as lucky as Dhoni?
This factor is not particularly related to the cricketing realm, but is very pertinent. Interestingly, Dhoni has always been lucky in coin tosses, which holds major significance in the outcome of a match. Hence, CSK would want their new skipper to be as lucky in tosses.
4. Effective bowling switches of Dhoni will be difficult to replicate
Besides his quick decision-making, Dhoni will also have a difficult time in replicating the effective bowling switches of the legendary skipper. The four-time IPL-winning captain got his bowling changes correct more often than not.

5. The Playing XI Debate
Now that Dhoni is not the captain, it subsequently means that he will play as a specialist batter, provided he makes it to the playing XI. But will he? This is the debate Jadeja needs to find the answer to. CSK has two quality all-rounders in Shivam Dube and Rajvardhan Hangargekar, and Jadeja could field both in the team if Dhoni is dropped to the bench.
