IPL 2021 – Rohit Sharma Injury Status? Rohit was visibly in pain and had to call the physio twice during his 28-run stay at the crease. Indian vice-captain did not take the field thereafter.

According to BCCI sources, Rohit is under-observation and will be taken for scans if required.

It is worth noting that Rohit also missed five matches in the IPL 2020 owing to a hamstring injury. The BCCI is expected to issue an update on Sharma’s injury status on Wednesday and it will be known whether he will be available for the 2nd ODI on Friday or not.

IPL 2021: Delhi Capital skipper Shreyas Iyer dislocates shoulder, doubtful for IPL 2021

Similarly, Delhi Capitals will also be worried about the status of their captain Shreyas Iyer who dislocated his shoulder.

“Shreyas Iyer subluxated his left shoulder in the 8th over while fielding. He has been taken for further scans and won’t take any further part in the game. Rohit Sharma was hit on the right elbow while batting and felt some pain later. He won’t take the field,” BCCI said in a tweet on Tuesday.

Delhi Capitals waiting for update on Iyer: Shreyas is now not only doubtful for the remaining ODI’s but also there is a huge question mark over his availability for IPL 2021.

The Delhi Capitals captain dived on a drive hit by Jonny Bairstow off pacer Shardul Thakur in the eighth over of England innings. The 26-year-old did not return to the field and as per BCCI, he had subluxated his left shoulder. Usually, it takes at least a month to recover from the injury and in some instances, surgery. He was taken for scans on Tuesday and DC will be waiting for an update.

With IPL 2021 scheduled to begin on April 9, Iyer is almost certain to miss out on a few matches or the entire tournament depending on the severity of his injury. Iyer with 519 runs from 17 matches was Delhi’s 2nd top-scorer after Shikhar Dhawan and his absence would hurt the team immensely.
