IPL 2021 Phase 2 – KKR Varun Chakravarthy: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star Varun Chakravarthy is gearing up the IPL 2021 Phase 2 with new tricks up his sleeve as the tournament returns to the UAE. Chakravarthy who currently is working on his fitness at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) is confident of getting fit for IPL in UAE and will soon join the KKR camp.

IPL 2021 Phase 2 – KKR Varun Chakravarthy: Varun Chakravarthy is a true student of the game and in an interview with ESPN Cricinfo, the KKR star revealed that he is working on adding more tricks to his repertoire. Chakravarty said that he would unleash his variation in the UAE and hope to make a strong case in IPL 2021 Phase 2.
The 29-year-old has seven variations up his sleeve already and has been working on the eighth variety with bowling coach Carl Crowe.

IPL 2021: “If I have to be picked in the World Cup, let that happen” says Varun Chakravarthy
IPL 2021 Phase 2 – KKR Varun Chakravarthy: Varun Chakravarthy topped KKR’s wicket charts last year17 strikes at an economy rate of 6.84. He also made his debut in the recently concluded India tour of Sri Lanka and is one of the players in contention to make the final squad. The 29-year-old said that while T20the World Cup is in the back of his mind, his goal is to help Kolkata Knight Riders make it to the playoffs. Chakravarthy said, “The goal will be for KKR to qualify [for the playoffs] and I’m just focusing on that. If I have to be picked in the World Cup, let that happen. If it has to happen, it will happen. The World Cup is there on the back of my mind, but I’m not thinking too much about it. There’s so much competition [for the spin spots for the T20 World Cup] and that’s why I need to keep getting better and better. It’s not in a negative way; the competition is positive and healthy.”
IPL 2021 Phase 2 – KKR Varun Chakravarthy: Varun Chakravarthy also hailed KKR superstar Sunil Narine as his mentor. The duo will team up in the UAE again this season and the West Indian comes into the tournament having recently bagged 400 wickets in all T20s. He added,
“Right now, I know whatever he does and he knows whatever I do. So, there is not much brainstorming. In the first season itself, we had our discussions. Now, we just look at each other and we know what to do. If I do some mistake, he himself will walk up to me and tell me where I’m going wrong and it’s [our relationship] at that level. He is still the best and he’s a mentor to me.”
