CSK are top of the table having won the last five matches. As for Mumbai Indians, they came back to winning ways against Sunrisers Hyderabad but their middle-order still misfiring and will need to address that as soon as possible as IPL 2021 enters the second leg.

Mumbai Indians made two changes with James Neesham replacing Nathan Coulter-Nile while Jayant Jadhav makes way for Dhawal Kulkarni. Chennai Super Kings have opted to go with an unchanged XI.
Trent Boult started brilliantly for Mumbai Indians with his seam movements troubling CSK batters. Soon, he sent Ruturaj Gaikwad back in the first over. But Moeen Ali and Faf du Plessis brought a half-century stand to anchor the innings.
However, after Bumrah removed Moeen Ali, Kieron Pollard’s two wickets in one over rattled CSK with Suresh Raina and Faf du Plessis departed quickly. But Ambati Rayudu brought up a special 72 off 27 to post 218 in 20 overs.
Mumbai Indians were off to a good start in the tough chase with Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock bringing up their 50-run stand inside the powerplay. But Mumbai lost two quick wickets with de Kock, Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav departing in a short span of time. However, Kieron Pollard took on CSK bowlers to keep Mumbai in the hunt. In the end, Kieron Pollard scored a thundering 87 off 34 balls to steer Mumbai to the target.
