Virat Kohli led Royal Challenger Banglore’s Washington Sundar got injured during the practice match in England while Kolkata Knight Riders Shubman Gill was ruled out of England series due to injury. Delhi Capitals pacer Avesh Khan also got injured during the first practice game in England while another DC player Steve Smith is still recovering from injury.

Washington Sundar

Washington Sundar’s recently picked up ligament injury has not just ruled him out of the Test series against England but also has put his participation in IPL Phase 2 in doubt. Sundar, who sustained a finger injury during Team India’s 3-day practice match in Durham, has been advised complete rest for the next one month. As per reports, he could be rested by BCCI and won’t take part in IPL. This will be a big blow for RCB as it will be very difficult for them to find a like for like replacement for Sundar.

Avesh Khan

Young fast bowler Avesh Khan’s tour of England is set to end abruptly after being ruled out of India’s warm-up first-class game against County XI due to a left-thumb fracture he sustained on the opening day of the match in Durham. Not only the India tour of England – doubts are also being raised on his participation for IPL 2021 Phase 2 for Delhi Capitals. This will be a big blow for DC as he was in top-notch form in the first phase of IPL 2021. He has picked 14 wickets in seven games for his side.

Shubman Gill

Team India and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have been dealt a major blow after Shubman Gill was confirmed to be out for at least three months with an injury. Gill, who had established himself as one of the first-choice openers in the longest format of the game, will miss the entirety of India’s Tour of England, and his participation in the subsequent IPL 2021 Phase 2 is but ruled out. The former India U-19 star has been a staple for KKR since he was snapped up in the auction and his absence could be a telling blow to the two-time champions as their captain Eoin Morgan is also set to be absent for the remaining matches.

Steve Smith

Steve Smith is all set to miss out on the 2nd phase of IPL 2021 in UAE. One of the world’s most prolific batsmen will not be available to Delhi Capitals for the 2nd leg of IPL. According to the information available, Smith is currently battling with injury to his elbow will not risk playing IPL again this year. The former captain of the Australian team will rather rest and get ready for the Ashes series against England.
