IPL 2021 – Chennai Super Kings’ Sam Curran to miss opening match vs Mumbai Indians, will Faf Du Plessis be available? Injury concerns seem to be oscillating like a pendulum for Faf du Plessis for quite some time. Fully recovered from a concussion (head injury), he returned to CPL for Saint Lucia Kings. However, he suffered a groin injury that ruled him out of their clash against Barbados Royals- the team’s final league game of the season.
The same injury woes have seen his exclusion even from the CPL semi-finals against Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR). Plessis’s injury has come as a huge setback for MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings which is scheduled to play its first match for IPL 2021 Phase 2 against Mumbai Indians on September 19.
