As per a Telegraph report, Jofra Archer is going to take an injection in his right elbow after the ongoing T20I series against India. If the report is to be believed, Archer will miss the IPL 2021 and Rajasthan Royals will miss their frontline pacer – who was named as the most valuable player of IPL 2020.
At RR, Archer earns a whopping Rs 7.2 crore for his services. But considering his condition is recurring, he is set to make a difficult decision. Rajasthan Royals or Archer haven’t yet announced anything officially yet. But with just two weeks left in the IPL 2021, it is unlikely that the England bowler will be available because of the chronic elbow injury.

IPL 2021 – Rajasthan Royals Jofra Archer to miss IPL 2021? The 25-year-old will take the third injection in his elbow joint that will give him some relief for the remainder of the year. The decision is likely to be finalised in the next few days after consulting with England medical team, management and possibly his IPL franchise. He is desperate to be fit for the Ashes series at the end of this year.
Archer played all the matches in the T20I series against England and was successful in the 4th T20I, bagging four wickets for 33 runs. But he has been rested for the ODI series against India that will begin on March 23 in Pune.
IPL 2021 – Rajasthan Royals Jofra Archer to miss IPL 2021? Archer felt pain in his elbow after the first Test in Chennai and an injection helped him ease the condition. But he did not return to the Playing XI until the pink-ball 3rd Test in Ahmedabad where he bowled only five overs in the entire match. As per reports, his pain in the joint aggravated and did not feature for the 4th Test at the same venue. England lost the series 1-3.

“I need to take care of my elbow before I think about what is going to happen. For me, in the immediate, I want to get through this T20I series and then I will do everything in my power to make sure I’m going to the World Cup and the Ashes,” on his elbow condition, Archer said ahead of the T20I series.
However, for Rajasthan, it will be a big blow as they are looking to bounce back from an abysmal IPL 2020 campaign where they finished at the bottom of the table.
