IOA VS IOC: The upcoming International Olympic Committee’s executive board meeting at Lausanne is going to be very important for the Indian Olympic Association. It is scheduled for meet next month and the future of the IOC is going to be discussed as well. In fact, the IOC is keeping a close tab on all the latest developments in the Indian courts regarding the matter as well. Follow IOA live updates with InsideSport.IN
Talking about the developments in regards to the matter, the Supreme Court passed a stay order on High Court appointed COA takeover of the IOA. The next hearing date for the same is August 22.
This has come as a huge interim relief for the IOA, who would come closer to being banned by the IOC had the CoA take over been passed. The current situation will be further updated to all in the IOA meeting.
“We are fully aware of the various court decisions. The IOC Executive Board will be updated about the situation on the occasion of its next meeting from 7 to 9 September 2022,” The Times of India quoted IOC’s press department as saying.
It is important to note that a three-member delegation from IOA will be travelling to Lausanne. The current IOA acting president Anil Khanna, secretary general Rajeev Mehta and treasurer Anandeshwar Panday will travel early September.

The message from the IOA has been clear since July. They want the IOA to hold elections as soon as possible else face ban. However, the IOA has not been able to hold their elections, which was actually set for December last year.
A suspension of the ban will have huge implications on IOA. They will not be getting funding and the body’s officials cannot attend meetings too.
