Inter Milan Reject Manchester United’s £34 million bid for Andre Onana

Inter Milan rejected Manchester United's initial approach for goalkeeper Andre Onana. The Red Devils are searching for a new goalkeeper after David de Gea's contract expires on June 30. United offered £34 million plus add-ons but remains hopeful about the transfer.

Andre Onana Transfer: Inter Milan are said to have rejected Manchester United’s initial approach for goalkeeper Andre Onana. The Red Devils are looking for a new custodian this summer when David de Gea’s contract expires on June 30. The Premier League team made an offer of £34 million plus add-ons but remains optimistic about the deal.

United offered €40 million plus €5 million in incentives, but Inter does not believe it is a fair price for the custodian. The Italians are thought to demand €50 million and readily reachable incentives of €10 million to sell the player.

Contacts between the two clubs will be maintained, with United being connected with prospective replacements such as Feyenoord’s Justin Bijlow. Inter has not set a formal timeline for the relocation, although would desire that everything be completed by July 20th.

The 27-year-old former Ajax player joined Inter last summer after leaving the Dutch giants. He swiftly surpassed Samir Handanovic as the club’s first-choice custodian. He even put up a number of strong performances in the Champions League.

Onana preserved five clean sheets in the competition, the most of any custodian, and one of his primary skills is his short and long distribution under duress. If United sign the Cameroonian, it is unknown if De Gea’s time at Old Trafford would come to an end.

The goalkeeping situation at Manchester United is uncertain following the expiration of David de Gea’s contract. De Gea, who has been the long-term No. 1 goalkeeper, was in discussions for a contract extension at a reduced wage of less than his previous £375,000 per week. Although an agreement seemed imminent at one point, it was ultimately not signed, and De Gea is now a free agent.
