Lakshya Sen vs Lee Zii Jia
Lakshya, a world championship bronze medallist and ranked 20th in the world, took just 32 minutes to quell the challenge of world no.11 Lee Zii Jia. The Indian won the contest 21-17 21-13.
With the win, Lakshya Sen also extended his lead to 3-1 in the head-to-head record against the Malaysia. Lakshya Sen will next face Kidambi Srikanth in the second round.
Kidambi Srikanth vs Lu Guang Zu
Like Lakshya Sen, Kidambi Srikanth also defeated a higher-ranked opponent in Lu Guang Zu with a comfortable 21-13, 21-19 victory.
It was Srikanth’s fifth successive victory against the Chinese and he leads the head-to-head 5-0 against him, thereby maintaining his clean sheet.
Priyanshu Rajawat vs Kunlavut Vitidsarn
Orleans Masters Champion Priyanshu Rajawat made it to the second round after World No.3 Kunlavut Vitidsarn gave him a walkover in the first round.
Rajawat, however, has a tough second-round tie as he set to face the winner of the match between Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittnghus of Denmark and second seed local shuttler Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.

India’s unseeded Aakarshi Kashyap’s campaign came to an end. The Indian was no match to second seeded An Se-young in the first round as she suffered a 10-21 4-21 loss.
