In the event that they successfully complete the licencing process , RoundGlass Punjab FC might become the first I–League side to be promoted to the top-tier ISL. In licencing, a number of factors are examined, including finances and infrastructure. With a commanding 4-0 victory over Rajasthan United, RoundGlass Punjab FC stormed to the 2022–23 I–League championship. The Punjab club also contributed to history by achieving this. By winning the second tier of Indian football, they have a chance to become the first I-League team to gain promotion to the Indian Super League (ISL).
Throughout the I-League this year, RGPFC has dominated the competition. They have won 16 of their 22 games. They have only lost two games all season. Additionally, they have created some electrifying football and scored 43 goals throughout that time to stroll to the league title.
Due to their outstanding accomplishment, RoundGlass Punjab will compete in the ISL as its 12th squad the following season. They will join a select group of teams in India, including Bengaluru FC, ATK Mohun Bagan, Jamshedpur FC, and East Bengal FC, that have competed in both levels.
