After shining in the recently concluded Asian Games, Indian Squash players stole the show at the Lakme Fashin Week held much recently in Delhi. Joshana Chinnappa, Dipika Pallikal, Abhay Singh, Anahat Singh and Tanvi Khanna all grabbed the spotlight as they sizzled in the ramp walk at the fashion show.

The Indian Squash players were seen wearing the new summer collection by designers Gauri and Nainika. All the five players took the ramp along with the designer duo on Day 3 of the Lakme Fashion Week.
At the recently concluded Hangzhou Asian Games, the Indian Squash players won two gold, one silver, and two bronze medals. The Indian Women’s squash team comprising Dipika Pallikal, Anahat Singh, Joshna Chinnappa and Tanvi Khanna bagged the bronze medal. In the Mixed Doubles Abhay Singh and Anahat SIngh won another bronze medal.
Saurav Ghosal bagged the silver medal in Men’s Singles. While Dipika Paliikal and Harinder Sandhu clinched the gold medal in Mixed Doubles. Abhay SIngh played a crucial role in the Men’s team event as he helped India clinch the final game of the tie against Pakistan in the final to bag the gold medal.

“It is an honour to represent our country in our sports. We had a good outing (Asian Games), coming back with medals, that’s a huge matter of pride. The crowd knows a little more about squash now and squash players, so that’s a bit exciting,” Abhay told ANI during the Lakme Fashin Week. Speaking about their ramp walk, he added. “This is a bit different to what we usually do. It’s a first time for a lot of us, so it was pretty exciting to be out there.”

Dipika Pallikal also enjoyed walking the ramp. She said, “We had a really super time out here. We are obviously in a different avatar. We are usually with our trainers and in sweaty T-shirts, but we actually had fun here.”
Indian Squash players can also celebrate as their sport has officially made its way into the Olympics for the first time. The sport has been added to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics alog with four other sports that also includes cricket.
