Indian Premier League goes global! IPL 2024 Auction to be held in this megacity

Last year, the auction was held in Kochi, but the BCCI had originally considered holding it in Istanbul.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has narrowed down the dates to a window between December 15 and 19, indicating that the Indian Premier League, IPL 2024 Auction would most likely take place in Dubai.

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction, which is scheduled for December 9, will come first. The WPL 2024 auction will probably take place in India, while the location has not yet been confirmed as per Cricbuzz.

The IPL 2024 auction is rumored to be held in Dubai, even though the franchises have not received any official notice.

December 18 or 19 are the most likely dates, even though both are weekdays. Last year, the auction was held in Kochi, but the BCCI had originally considered holding it in Istanbul.

IPL 2024 Auction

The Dubai idea for IPL 2024 Auction may only be preliminary given the previous year’s precedence, but all IPL franchises have been notified that the Gulf city is being considered as the auction destination.

Although the trade window is still open, there haven’t been any reports of player exchanges between IPL teams as yet. It’s unclear if big deals will happen because this is the last of the three-year window, although some highly compensated players who didn’t contribute much in the previous IPL season might be let go ahead of IPL Auction.

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction location and dates have still not been disclosed by the BCCI to the owners. There is a suggestion that the league be held in February of this year. The Indian women’s squad has overseas obligations through mid-January.

There has been no word from the teams whether the WPL would take place in multiple cities this year, as it did in Mumbai last year, or if it will remain in one city.
