In an unimpressive performance, ace Indian shuttler HS Prannoy lost to Chinese Taipei’s Chou Tien Chen 21-19, 16-21, 19-21 in the second round of the Japan Masters on Thursday. The seventh-seeded Indian was far from his best in the match, and lost in 73 minutes, to mark an end to his campaign.
That also means the end of India’s challenge, as earlier in the tournament, WR-17 Lakshya Sen and Priyanshu Rajawat had lost their respective matches, in the first round itself. Sen lost to WR-5 Japan’s Kodai Naraoka 17-21, 10-21. On the other hand, Rajawat lost 15-21, 12-21 to Chinese Taipei’s Lin Chun-Yi.
