India win U19 World Cup: India lift record 5th WC title – Yash Dhull became the fifth Indian captain and third from Delhi to lift the U19 World Cup title. On Sunday, in the final, India rode on Raj Bawa fifer and half-centuries from Shaik Rasheed & Nishant Sandhu to best England by 4 wickets in Antigua. Shreyas Iyer and Yuvraj Singh led the cricket fraternity in hailing India’s achievement.
The stage was set by Raj Bawa and Ravi Kumar’s excellent bowling performance. Raj Bawa became the only Indian cricketer to bag a five-wicket haul in an ICC tournament final while Ravi Kumar impressed with 4/34 as India dismissed England for 189. With the bat too, the Bengal player put up an impressive show, scoring a much-needed 35.

Meanwhile, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced a Rs 40 Lakh reward for each player and Rs 25 lakh for each support staff.
“We were looking to bat first as well. But there was some moisture so we thought to make use of that. He has a good head on his shoulders. It’s a fabulous competition getting this stage to perform, to showcase talent,” Hrishikesh Kanitkar said after the match.
