India Tour of Sri Lanka: Ishan Kishan had a dream ODI debut against Sri Lanka, as the wicket-keeper smashed a scintillating half-century in Colombo on Sunday. Team India had a productive outing in their series opener as they claimed a comfortable seven-wicket win vs the Lankans. The hosts were restricted to 262 with Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav re-uniting for the visitors, with Shikhar Dhawan ensuring that the match was won with 13 overs to spare.

India Tour of Sri Lanka: Yuzvendra Chahal enjoyed a good comeback to the playing XI as he returned with figures of 2/52 in his 10 overs in the first ODI against Sri Lanka. Chahal scalped the wicket of Avishka Fernando of his very first delivery and later on foxed captain Dasun Shanaka to put the brakes on the Sri Lankan innings. Team India made light work light work of the total, and the leg-spinner then returned to his broadcast duties, with the return of Chahal TV.

The 23-year-old on his birthday became the second man after South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen to score fifty on debut in both ODI and T20I cricket, having scored 56 in his debut on T20I debut against England in March.

India Tour of Sri Lanka: During the interaction, Ishan Kishan expressed his happiness of being featured on Chahal TV, having also made an appearance after his T20I debut. Kishan hit his very first ball for a six and revealed that he had planned it before stepping onto the field. The Mumbai Indians star said, “There were a lot of odds in my favour. It was my birthday today and having kept wickets for 50 overs I knew there wasn’t much help for the spinners.”

India Tour of Sri Lanka: He added that he had told his teammates that he was going to hit the first ball for a six irrespective of the bowler or the delivery, providing an insight into his great confidence. Kishan said that he stuck with his gameplan and felt he was in good touch having batted in the nets adjacent to the wicket used for the first ODI.
