India Tour of England: After injury setbacks, Virat Kohli & Co aim to seal Test series in England after 13 years – India will look to win their maiden Test series in England when they start the five-match Test series on August 4. The 5-match Test series is an opportunity for India to repeat their 2007 heroics after losing the three-Test series in England on a trot. The players will look to forget ICC WTC Final loss to New Zealand as they start their proceedings for another session of the World Test Championship. On the other hand, England will be aiming to avenge their 3-1 Test series loss to India earlier this year.

The batting department needs to fire if Virat Kohli and Co are looking to seal the Test series. The likes of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, and Rishabh Pant need to play match-winning innings on their days. The bowling department includes speedsters Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd Shami, Ishant Sharma, and Umesh Yadav and spinners R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

The bowling department is expected to do well as usual but they also need to come with some crucial contributions. The top order at times has failed to get going in England and to overcome another Test series loss, it is crucial for the lower order to come up with some handy contributions.

Meanwhile, the likes of SuryaKumar Yadav and Prithvi Shaw who were supposed to replace injured Washington Sundar and Shubman Gill are in doubt. The duo is under isolation in Sri Lanka after Krunal Pandya tested COVID positive. Now, Yuzvendra Chahal and K Gowtham have also tested positive for the virus. The pandemic rules mean the duo won’t be available for the first two tests.
