The lad from Punjab initially looked in good touch, smacking two boundaries off Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling and as many against Will Davis. However, the latter had the last laugh as he got his wicket in the second delivery of the 10^th over.

Davis pitched the ball outside off-stump, which Gill could have left but instead tried to offer a shot. However, he could not get the desired connection and ended up edging the ball straight into the gloves of Indian wicketkeeper-batter, Rishabh Pant, who is playing for Leicestershire in this match. Overall, Gill scored 21 runs from 25 deliveries.
