After shabby performance in the 1st T20, captain Rohit Sharma has also shown his unhappiness with the bowling effort.
“I don’t think we bowled well,” Rohit said on the official broadcast after the match. “Two hundred is a good score to defend, and we didn’t take our chances in the field. It was a great effort from our batters, but the bowlers were quite not there.”

India T20 WC Squad: Bhuvneshwar Kumar letting the match slip away in the death overs – 16, 14, and 19 runs are the runs Kumar has conceded in the 19th over in three matches. In the last game against Australia, the right-arm pacer could not take a wicket from overs 15 to 20. He conceded a whopping 52 runs and was poor in his execution. In Bumrah’s absence, Bhuvneshwar has not stepped in death overs for India.
While there is no doubt about his ability to bowl in the powerplay, it is line and lengths in the death overs that have become a cause of concern. Kumar does not have pace, he does not have an awkward angle, nor he has variations. He relies on lines and lengths, and if he does not get that right then he leaks runs.
“You can’t score 200 every day, you need to bat well. Hardik [Pandya] batted really well to get us there. We need to look at our bowling before the next game,” Rohit added.
