The 31-year medium-pacer of RCB could bowl only a solitary over in RCB’s all-important game against GT. The injury took place in the 13th over of the game when Harshal Patel left the ground requiring medical attention. From the looks of it, it seemed to be a split webbing for the bowler and that too on his bowling hand.
Patel took no part further in the game and now this can be a huge worry for Rohit Sharma. With as many as 5 players previously injured, and now with the addition of Patel, the injury tally reaches 6. Sharma and the selectors will surely be in a state of worry as apart from the injury concerns quite a few senior players of the team will also not be selected and would be rested.

- Deepak Chahar Quadricep injury – Still recovering
- Ravindra Jadeja – Rib injury
- Suryakumar Yadav – Muscle injury
- T Natarajan – Hamstring injury
- Washington Sundar – Split webbing
- Harshal Patel – Split Webbing
Though the likes of Natarajan and Washington Sundar are in the process of recovering but opting to field them can be a major blunder. Therefore Shamra and the selectors will prefer not to include these 6 players in the list. With now Harshal Patel joining the list of absentees, India will surely have a tough time with the team selection.
