IND vs NZ: However, for Ishan Kishan, the only place that opens up is of KL Rahul. Rahul, the vice-captain on the tour, didn’t have a great outing in the 1st T20 but he was India’s highest scorer in the T20 World Cup and has been amongst runs. With Rahul also set to play a major role in the Test series in Rohit Sharma’s absence, the team management could rest him in favour of Ishan Kishan.

The other position is of Rishabh Pant. The young wicket-keeper batsman has also been back to back bio-bubble but as he is set to be rested for the Test series, it is unlikely that he will drop from Playing XI.
With not many games left to test squad strength, the next two T20Is will be important to get them ready ahead of the South Africa tour. And Ishan Kishan as a backup wicketkeeper in T20s, will play a major in South Africa. Hence, he could be given some game time before the long tour.

Bowling department: Deepak Chahar and Mohammed Siraj both were off-colour in the 1st T20. However, as both haven’t played many T20Is for India, both may get another chance. But Avesh Khan and Harshal Patel with their IPL exploits have done enough to justify selection.
IND vs NZ: In the spin department, Ravichandran Ashwin has reignited his T20 form and is all set to continue. The other place is Axar Patel. Although he had a decent outing in the 1st T20, he is likely to retain his place, keeping Yuzvednra Chahal on the bench once again.
