India Playing XI 2nd Test – India vs Bangladesh LIVE: Jaydev Unadkat is the only one change for India in the second Test. The left-arm pacer has been given a chance after 12 years in the Test team. Kuldeep Yadav misses despite winning the player of the match award in the first Test. KL Rahul is fit to go and is leading the team. Follow IND vs BAN LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.
Playing XI: Shubman Gill, KL Rahul (C), Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (WK), Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, R Ashwin, Jaydev Unadkat, Umesh Yadav, Mohammad Siraj
Unlike Chattogram, Dhaka offers more purchases to left-arm spinners. The little assistance seamers will get will be from the early morning dew and cold weather. India have left-arm spinner Saurabh Kumar in the squad. However, with Kuldeep Yadav bagging 8 wickets on Test return, it is unlikely that Saurabh will make it into the Playing XI.
India is likely to go ahead with an unchanged eleven. KL Rahul suffered a blow in the nets ahead of the match but is declared fit and will lead India in the match.

India Playing XI vs BAN: What to Expect from India’s Playing XI in Dhaka?
- Against a weak Bangladesh side, India batters ruled the roost.
- Although KL Rahul and Virat Kohli did not shine with the bat, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and Cheteshwar Pujara among runs.
- Even lower-order batters Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav scored well too.
- In such a scenario, both KL Rahul and Rahul Dravid do not have much to tinker about.
- Rohit Sharma being ruled out has come as a blessing in disguise.
- Shubman Gill despite scoring his maiden Tets century would have to sit out if Rohit did return.
- But now, Shubman will continue to open with KL Rahul.
- However, the captain-coach duo will be mindful of the left-arm finger spin that rules in Shere Bangla Stadium.
- India have Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav as two left-arm spinners.
- But Kuldeep is a wrist spinner that could force a change despite brilliant comeback.
- Saurabh Kumar is an ideal option with 15 wickets in two matches for India A.
- However, the team management is unlikely to change combination.
- Both pacers — Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Siraj — will keep their places

“That is why I suggest Rohit should stay at home. When a player suffers a hand fracture and you cannot hold the bat for about 10 days, even if you recover, you cannot really join the team the very next day. It takes another 1- to 15 days. And we don’t even know the extent of the injury yet. That is why I suggest this. We are looking for a temporary solution and this is the best solution for it,” Ajay Jadeja said on Sony Sports.

Eyes on KL Rahul, Virat Kohli & Rishabh Pant – With others performing well in an easy win in Chattogram, the focus will shift to Rahul, Kohli and Pant. All three have had their own struggles. If Kohli is without a Test century for over 1100 days, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant have had a dip in form.
- KL Rahul: 22 & 23
- Virat Kohli: 1 & 19
- Rishabh Pant: 46 & DNB
Pant was the better batter among the three in Chattogram. Pant scored a fine 45-ball 46 in the 1st Test. While he did not need to bat in 2nd innings, he needs to fire soon. He has struggled in white-ball crickets. With KS Bharat warming the bench, he has to get his form back before it’s too late.
