India Playing XI 2nd T20: Sanju Samson gets another chance – Team India captain Rohit Sharma opted against tweaking a winning combination as they geared up for the 2nd T20 against Sri Lanka on Saturday. Rohit won the toss and decided to chase, having taken a 1-0 lead in the series with a comfortable 62-run win in Lucknow. With no changes, Sanju Samson will get yet another chance to prove his worth in the absence of Ruturaj Gaikwad. Follow IND vs SL 2nd T20 Live Updates on InsideSport.IN.

Ruturaj Gaikwad injured his wrist while batting at the nets ahead of the 1st T20. While he was all set to open with Rohit Sharma, the unfortunate injury opened up a space for Sanju Samson. But with Rohit and Ishan Kishan smashing a 111-run partnership, Samson didn’t get a chance to bat. Instead, Ravindra Jadeja was preferred ahead of him.

However, the 2nd T20 could be the stage for him to make a statement having returned to Team India after a six-month absence. He didn’t have the greatest of returns though. He didn’t get to bat and dropped an easy catch while fielding.

While India are likely to stick to the winning combination, there could be opportunities for Kuldeep Yadav and Avesh Khan. India had a comfortable outing in the 1st T20 and the rest of the two matches could be open to experimentation, especially against a struggling Sri Lankan batting unit.
Kuldeep Yadav could come in place of Deepak Hooda who had a below-average T20I debut. He conceded 24 runs in three overs without any success. Kuldeep, who has been warming the bench, could finally get a chance in Dharamshala.
That’s that from the 1st T20I.#TeamIndia win by 62 runs and go 1-0 up in the three-match series.

As for Avesh Khan, who struggled on his debut in the 3rd T20 against West Indies, could get another go. Rohit Sharma talked about backing the players irrespective of their form and Avesh Khan will get his chance.
