In the first ODI against Australia, Hardik Pandya will captain the team in place of Rohit Sharma.
Pandya has a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate his leadership abilities in ODIs after wowing everyone by inspiring Gujarat Titans to victory in the IPL 2022 season and by captaining India in T20Is.
Shreyas Iyer Injury
Injured Shreyas Iyer is currently recuperating at the NCA. But it is still unclear whether the right-handed batter will require surgery, as bowlers Jasprit Bumrah or Prasidh Krishna did.
Iyer’s chances of leading the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023), which is set to begin on March 31, are reportedly bleak.
Two-time IPL champion KKR, owned by Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, will be looking for a new skipper to take the helm of the Kolkata-based team in captain Iyer’s absence.
On April 1st, when they play Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens, KKR will start their pursuit of a third IPL championship.
