IND-W vs AUS-W Highlights: Chasing 162 to win, India were in a spot of bother having lost openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma early. Harmanpreet Kaur walked into bat at 22/2 and steadily stitched a partnership with Jemimah Rodrigues.
Rodrigues played the anchor as Harmanpreet soon started flexing her muscles, taking the attack to the spinners. Alana King was taken apart and so was Tahlia McGrath as Harmanpreet ensured that the required run rate never went out of reach.
She eventually got her to Fifty, her second of them tournament against Australia. India went past 100 and looked set to chase the total down. Jemimah also grew comfortable as the game progressed and brought her strike rate up to 100.

However an inspired change from Meg Lanning saw Megan Schutt clean up Jemimah to break a 96-run partnership. Ashleigh Gardner then struck twice in one over to remove Pooja Vastrakar and Harmanpreet Kaur to turn the game in Australia’s favour.
India continued to panic even as Deepti Sharma kept them in the game with a couple of streaky boundaries. However, the left hander was deceived by a slower delivery and was out LBW. Needing 11 in the final over, Yastika Bhatia couldn’t do much as Jess Jonassen finished the job for the women in yellow.

Earlier in the day, captain Meg Lanning won the toss and Australia decided to bat first at Edgbaston. India struck early as Alyssa Healy departed, but Meg Lanning and Beth Mooney stitched a wonderful 74-run partnership to put Australia on top.
However, some inspired fielding from Radha Yadav ensured that the Australian captain was run out. She then followed it up with a diving catch to dismiss Tahlia McGrath, who featured despite having tested positive for COVID-19.
Ashleigh Gardner played a quick fire cameo as Mooney got to another half century. The Indians bounced back with regular wickets and it took a fine cameo from vice captain Rachel Haynes to help Australia reach 161 in their 20 overs.
