IND vs ZIM LIVE: ICC T20 World Cup 2022: India Practice MCG LIVE: For a second straight match, Team India had a 5-hour practice session ahead of matchday. Leading India’s charge in nets is birthday boy Virat Kohli who turned 34 on November 5. While usually, teams divide two practice sessions into 2 hours each before match days, India had gone a different route. As it seems, Virat Kohli’s gruelling work routine has rubbed on others. Before Zimbabwe match on Sunday, Rohit Sharma & Co have decided to take day off on Friday and have a 5-hour practice session on Saturday at the MCG. Unlike others, Virat Kohli follows a gruelling routine on non-match days. He spends at least 4-5 hours in the gym working on his fitness. During practice sessions, he would always be one of the first persons to come and last to leave.
Head coach Rahul Dravid along with captain Rohit Sharma are implementing that in Team India’s routine. India participated in a three-hour session between 2 PM and 5 PM (8:30-11:30 AM IST) on Saturday. And then again, they will have practice under lights from 6PM to 8PM (12:30-2:30 PM IST).

This is a recent shift in the practice routine. Earlier, Team India followed 2-3 hours each day during last World Cup and also during Asia Cup. However, instead of continuous practice, India have decided to hit the nets hard once before match day. However, even the 5-hour practice has been made optional to not overstress players and risk injuries.
India vs Zimbabwe: However, Team India won’t be taking Zimbabwe lightly. Although India have a foot in the semifinals, a loss at the hands of giant slayers Zimbabwe could make things difficult. Zimbabwe have already defeated Pakistan. And at the biggest crowd-puller MCG, it could be the case again.

Team India qualification Scenario:
- Despite being on top of Group 1, India are not technically through to the semifinals.
- Pakistan and Bangladesh beside South Africa can mathematically surpass India if they lose to Zimbabwe.
- But if India beat Zimbabwe, they will be officially through and other games won’t have any bearings.
- A win will ensure India top spot in Group 1.
- If Pakistan beat Bangladesh and South Africa lose to Netherlands, India could be out on Net Run Rate.
- Pakistan currently have +1.117 NRR to India’s +0.730.
- Bangladesh are unlikely to make it even if they beat Pakistan.
- Bangladesh could only qualify and knock India out if they win, South Africa and India lose.
- Zimbabwe could also mathematically qualify if all conditions go their way.
