At a time when all the players including India captain Rohit Sharma are vocal about scheduling, Cricket West Indies has only shot themselves in the foot. Until and unless the timing for 3rd T20 is changed to maintain a 24-hour gap, both teams will have to shuffle squad to keep everyone fresh.

“I do think it is important but it can be managed in a better way for sure. The scheduling has to be done with some space as well,” Rohit Sharma said in regards to the scheduling of ODI series in England.

But it holds true. The discontent amongst players is real and all the players want a change in hectic schedule. A professional cricketer needs at least 24 hours to recover from a gruelling match. But as things stand, Rohit Sharma will have to arrive at the Warner Park stadium within 15.5 hrs. With Asia Cup 2022 and T20 World Cup approaching, it can be costly.

Players like Hardik Pandya and Bhuvneshwar Kumar besides Rohit Sharma himself have struggled with injuries in the past. And playing two matches within 15.5 hours’ time could only risk more injuries.
