1: Nicholas Pooran
West Indian wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran was the costliest Windies player scored during the mega auction. He was signed up by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for 10.75 crores. Cricketer-turned-expert Simon Doull felt the amount paid to the southpaw was a touch too high. Doull has a point as the explosive batter had a horrible IPL 2021 as he averaged just 7.
Pooran though comes with a reputation of giving the ball a real whack and is considered the most dangerous T20 player. It was due to this ability that SRH went the distance to purchase him. The southpaw though could score just 34 runs in three ODIs against India.
