“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has added Ishan Kishan and Shahrukh Khan to India’s squad for the first ODI against the West Indies to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday,” BCCI said in a statement.

KL Rahul is unavailable due to his sister’s wedding while Mayank Agarwal is still in quarantine and will only be available on the match day. On Wednesday, Mayank Agarwal was added to India’s ODI squad after seven members, including three players (Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shikhar Dhawan and Navdeep Saini) tested positive for COVID-19 following three rounds of RT-PCR testing.
On Saturday, newly-appointed ODI captain Rohit Sharma confirmed that Ishan Kishan will be opening the innings with him in the 1st ODI.
“With COVID it is uncertain with what is going to happen. At the moment, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, and Shikhar Dhawan are in isolation. They are doing well. In the first ODI, Ishan Kishan would open with me, he is the only option as Mayank was added to the squad, he is in isolation as he came a bit late into the squad. He has not finished his quarantine so Ishan will open the innings unless there is an injury,” Rohit Sharma said.
