IND VS WI ODI Series – Shikhar Dhawan Disappointed on missing 100: Like Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan also has been waiting for a international hundred since 2019. Dhawan has 17 ODI hundreds to his credit so far. But his last came more than 3 years ago and on Friday night he missed the landmark by just 3 runs. The makeshift Indian captain scored 97 of 99 balls that ensured India’s victory in 1st ODI. But missing out on 100 made him very disappointed. Dhawan expressed disappointment of not being able to score a century. His brilliant knock also earned him the ‘Man of the Match’ award but still he says he is not to happy.

“Disappointed not to get the 100, but it was a good effort by the team. We got a good score in the end.

“There were nerves in the end and did not expect it to turn that way. We kept our cool and one small change in the end where we pushed the fine leg back and that really helped us.

“The discussion was to use the bigger side as much as we can and we want to keep on learning and make ourselves better for the rest of the competition,” said Dhawan in a post-match presentation.
