Pooran and Holder go for Street Food

Jason Holder and Nicholas Pooran were seen in the streets of Trinidad as they enjoyed the food. In a post shred by West Indies cricket official Twitter account, the players were seen wearing fancy dress and enjoyed the different locations in the streets of the Trinidad islands.

The players were seen visiting ‘The Sauce Team’ restaurant while on the outing. As the post suggests, the Caribbean players are very fond of a special DISH called DOUBLES.

What is DOUBLES Sandwich? Doubles is a humble sandwich made from curried chickpeas tucked between two pieces of fried flat bread and dressed in tamarind and coriander sauces, mango chutney, kuchela (spicy, green mango chutney) and cucumber.

Players prepare for the ODI series: Before the first ODI on Friday, the players were seen taking part in the training session. WestIndies named a 13-member squad for the ODI series and have already started preparations. Nicholas Pooran and Jason Holder were seen preparing along with Akeal Hosein, Gudakesh Motie and Jayden Seales.

As current and former captain, both Pooran and Holder will have the responsibility to guide their team. A win against India will be the perfect statement after the disappointing defeat to Bangladesh.

Jason Holder recalled to the WestIndies side-

The Selection Panel recalled experienced all-rounder Jason Holder, who returns to the squad after missing the Bangladesh Series to help manage his workload as one of the West Indies all format players. Holder has the capability to deliver both as batter and bowler.

WestIndies have been troubled with poor performances of star players in the recent time and endured a tough ODI series campaign against Bangladesh. An improved shoe against India should be the perfect confidence booster for the home side.

West Indies squad: Nicholas Pooran (captain), Shai Hope, Shamarh Brooks, Keacy Carty, Jason Holder, Akeal Hosein, Alzarri Joseph, Brandon King, Kyle Mayers, Gudakesh Motie, Keemo Paul, Rovman Powell, Jayden Seales
