Ravi Bishnoi was on the selectors’ radar after an impressive IPL 2021 with Punjab Kings. In 9 matches last year, Bishnoi bagged 12 wickets with an impressive economy rate of 6.39.
After the disastrous South Africa tour, the team management decided to turn to wrist-spin option once again and Rahul Chahar’s injury meant, Ravi Bishnoi was the man for the job. He was fast-tracked to Team India and was handed over the cap by fellow leggie Yuzvendra Chahal before a pat on the back by former India captain Virat Kohli.
However, with the selection committee members present at the Eden Gardens, Ravi Bishnoi will have to perform especially with Rahul Chahar also waiting for his chance.
