IND vs WI: From Ravi Bishnoi to Suryakumar Yadav, 3 BIG POSITIVES from India’s 3-0 rout of West Indies in T20s
1. Ravi Bishnoi
Since the KulCha breakup, India have struggled for a lead spinner in limited overs cricket. While Yuzvendra Chahal has returned on merit, Kuldeep continues to be on the fringes, while the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Rahul Chahar have also been tried and tested. Now, India seem to have unearthed a gem in Ravi Bishnoi after the 21-year-old put on a brilliant show throughout the series. The 21-year-old won the Man of the Match on his debut, picking up 2/17, and then bowled spells of 1/30 and 0/29 in a fine start to his international career. Bishnoi’s variations and his control over his googly meant that West Indies batsmen struggled to get him away in the middle overs. Bishnoi bowled most of his deliveries to the in-form West Indian duo of Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell, but both were unable to milk him for runs despite the asking rate climbing steadily.

2. Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav went leaps and bounds ahead of his competitors in this series, nailing himself as one of the jigsaw pieces in the squad. The Mumbai Indians star finished off the chase calmly in the 1st T20I with an unbeaten 34, and followed it up with a brilliant 65 in the third and final T20 on Sunday. Both innings came under pressure situations with the top order having dismissed cheaply, and showcased Suryakumar Yadav’s range of shots to get India home and rightfully clinch the player of the series.

3. Venkatesh Iyer
The Indian all-rounder impressed once again and the Kolkata Knight Riders star could very well be the seam bowling all-rounder the team were searching for. Despite batting at an unfamiliar finishing role, Iyer chipped in useful innings in all 3 games, building two vital partnerships with Suryakumar Yadav and one with Rishabh Pant to ensure that the Men in Blue sealed the deal. The 27-year-old also picked up two wickets in the final game, in what could be a defining series for the KKR star.
