West Indies won the toss and opted to field

Earlier, Shai Hope won the toss and invited Hardik Pandya-led Indian side to bat first. Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill spearheaded the innings for India, and the duo provided a solid start, as the duo added 143 runs for the first wicket before Ishan departed for 77 runs off 64 balls. Ishan was dropped at 9 by Keacy Carty, and the Southpaw utilized the opportunity, smashing bowlers all around the park and notching up his third consecutive fifty in the series.

Ruturaj Gaikwad failed to make an impact with the bat today and departed for a mere 8 runs off 14 balls. Sanju Samson came out with clear intentions today. He along with skipper Hardik Pandya scored fifties to help India post a formidable total on the board.

Chasing 351, West Indies got off to a nightmare start as they faced a daunting challenge from Mukesh Kumar, who wreaked havoc with the new ball and removed three batters in the first powerplay. Brandon King (0 off 5), Kyle Mayers (4 off 10), and Shai Hope (5 off 9) were the first three batters to fall. The home side never recovered from the early blows as some batting effort from the lower-order helped them to reach the 150-run mark before bundling out.
