IND vs SL: Man of the Series Suryakumar Yadav disappointed not to score big in Sri Lanka, says ‘it’s my biggest disappointment’ – In India’s 2-1 series win against Sri Lanka in the ODI series, the biggest highlight was Suryakumar Yadav. The Mumbai Indians batsman since making his debut for India in the T20Is against England has been in fine form in the blue shirt and has made himself certain to be picked for the ICC T20 World Cup. In the debut ODI series, he shined, scoring 124 runs at an average of 62.00 including a half-century. But that missing a hundred in the series has been SKY’s biggest disappointment.
“Absolutely, I am very disappointed with not getting a big score. The way I started the first game, gave me a lot of confidence. In the 2nd and 3rd match, the situation was perfect to put up a big score and win the games for the team, but it was not the way I should have played and got out. I am really disappointed with that,” Suryakumar Yadav said at the post-match press conference on Friday.
IND vs SL: In the 1st match, he did not have the opportunity to play a big knock as India were chasing the game with Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw and Ishan Kishan setting the stage. But in the 2nd match, he did have the perfect situation as India lost five wickets and he was batting at 51 with still 116 runs to win. But he was trapped leg-before by Lakshan Sandakan, leaving India in trouble.
These boundaries had class written all over it ❤️

IND vs SL: Similarly, on Friday in the 3rd ODI, he started well and was batting on 40 with 28 overs still left. He had the stage set for a big score but he was again trapped leg-before in a similar fashion.

“Today, again I had a good opportunity as wickets were falling from the other end. I should have tried and play till the end but I could not do it. I am keeping those two things in mind and how do I build from here but that’s how you learn and move forward,” Suryakumar Yadav said.
IND vs SL: However, with his flexibility to bat at the top, middle and lower-middle-order, he has become an asset for Team India, at least in white-ball cricket. Furthermore, he can bat at a higher strike rate that he has proven with his 122.77 strike rate in the series. With the ICC T20 World Cup on the horizon, Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri have found a gem with Shreyas Iyer still recovering from a shoulder injury. With such good shows, he will be one of the first names to be picked for the mega event in October.
