1. Ishan Kishan vs Lahiru Kumara 

In the absence of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan is set to open the innings against SriLanka. The left-handed batter will be looking to make the most of the field restrictions. However, he is likely to come face to face against SriLanka’s express pacer Lahiru Kumara. To note, Kumara concedes runs at 8.25 against the left-handers in T20Is. The speedster has picked 30 scalps in 25 T20Is averaging 23.9.

2. Suryakumar Yadav vs Wanindu Hasaranga 

Suryakumar Yadav showed his top form in 2022, particularly in T20Is. Recently named as India’s vice-captain, Suryakumar is slated to bat at the number three position for the Men in Blue. Wanindu Hasaranga will definately challenge him in the middle overs and their battle would certainly be enticing. Notably, Yadav has an astonishing strike rate of 193.75 vs leg-spinners in T20Is. On the other hand, Wanindu Hasaranga boasts an economy rate of 6.44 versus right-handers in T20Is.

3. Arshdeep Singh vs Pathum Nissanka 

Young batter Pathum Nissanka has quickly emerged as one of the top batter in the SriLankan setup. Pathum Nissanka has amassed 1015 runs averaging 29.85 in 36 T20Is including 173 runs in Asia Cup 2022 and 214 runs in T20 World Cup 2022. Avishka Fernando who might bat at the number 3 position for SriLanka will need to see out Chahal. To note, Avishka played his last T20I game in February 2022. The right-handed batter looks comfortable against the spin bowling and might look to anchor the SriLankan innings.

5. Washington Sundar vs Bhanuka Rajapaksa 

SriLanka have included a number of left-handed batters in their squad. Explosive batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa is one of them. The left-handed batter boasted a strike rate of 134.01 in 2022. Sundar who looks more competent against the left-handed batters will have the job to scalp Bhanuka quickly before he can do damage with the bat. Apart from Bhanuka, Sundar can also come handy against Charith Asalanka who is also a left-handed batter.
