Ishan Kishan in place of Shubman Gill

In his last match for India against Bangladesh on December 10, 2022, Ishan Kishan became the quickest and youngest batter to hit a double century in ODIs. Despite this, he was still left out of the starting XI, and in his place, Shubman Gill made a comeback.

Shubman, though, lived up to the hype and scored 70 runs off 60 balls in the first game of the series before hitting 21 off 12 balls in the second game.

And it’s not rocket science that the Gujarat Titans opener will not be cut for poor form. He will instead have time to relax before testing Ishan Kishan.

Insidesport

With the NZ series coming up and most importantly Australia Test series, the team management will like to keep Shubman fresh. Not to forget that Kishan has also been selected for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, so team management would like to give him the test run in the longer format.

SuryaKumar Yadav for Shreyas Iyer

The last two ODIs haven’t included Suryakumar Yadav in the lineup. Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma have given Shreyas Iyer priority at the number 4 position.

However, Iyer has failed to impress. Now there are huge chances that he might be replaced in the final game of the series by the Mo 1 T20I batter.

Insidesport

In the 50-over format, SKY has been patiently waiting for his opportunities. In November 2022, Yadav faced off against New Zealand for his last 50-over encounter.

If selected he will come into the series after scoring his third T20I century against SL, going 112 runs off 51 balls to win the third T20I for India.

The 32-year-old, though, has struggled to maintain consistency in the 50-over format, failing to reach double-figures in his past five innings.
