Sanju Samson has played seven T20I for Team India between 2015 to 2020. The right batsman has scored just 83 runs in seven games with an average of 11.85 and a strike rate of 118.57. In the recently suspended IPL 2021, he smashed a century in losing cause for Rajasthan Royals. Sanju was named the captain of Rajasthan ahead of the 2021 Indian Premier League. He scored a century in his first match as captain becoming the first IPL captain to achieve the feat. In seven games he scored 277 runs at a staggering average of 46.16 and an explosive strike rate of 145.78.
Samson, who represents Kerala in domestic cricket, has failed to live up to the expectations over the years as his domestic form never reflects in international cricket. He will hope to get more chances in the upcoming T20 series against Sri Lanka.
