Yadav, who has been in excellent form lately, only managed to score 8 runs off of 6 balls in the dead rubber.

Rohit Sharma was quick to make a joke about Suryakumar Yadav’s performance when questioned about the areas that were of concern in the post-match presentation.

Speaking to Murali Karthik, Rohit made a sarcastic remark. “Speaking about the concerns, Surya’s form is a bit of a concern (starts laughing).” Presenter Murali Kartik also laughed about that, saying “I thought it would be the least of your concerns!”

Nevertheless, India’s skipper soon turned serious and talked about the team’s preparations ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022.

“No, honestly speaking, we have to look at our bowling. What more options could we find in the powerplay, in the middle-overs, and in the death as well,” Rohit said.

“The last two series were very challenging. We were playing against the top-2 sides. We had to come up against tough challenges. We will go back and see what better we can do. It is going to be challenging, but we need to find an answer to those. I would still say, we are working towards that. Guys need clarity on what we want to achieve, and it is my job to convey that. It’s a work in progress, and we want to continue to keep doing that,” Rohit added.

He added that losing Bumrah meant India will now have to find a bowler of his experience.

“So we need to find a bowler who has the experience of bowling in Australia. Not sure who that bowler is going to be, we will see once we travel to Australia, we’ll find it out there,” Rohit Sharma pointed.

South Africa came out all guns blazing after being asked to bat first in the final T20 of the series. Quinton de Kock led the attack and made sure that the team capitalized in the powerplay. QDK scored 68 off just 43 balls and also gave good support to Rilley Rossouw from the other end. Rossouw took a few deliveries to get in and thereafter was difficult to contain. He smashed an unbeaten century off just 48 balls and displayed clean striking throughout the innings. India in response, lost its way early on by losing 3 wickets in the powerplay. Dinesh Karthik was the top scorer with 46 runs off just 21 balls. The team fell short by 49 runs while chasing a target of 228.
