After Bavuma was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal, David Miller and Klaasen added another 51-run stand to put the final nail in India’s coffin. With that, South Africa have a golden chance to win the series in Vishakhapatnam on Tuesday.
Sent to bat, India were off to a poor start with Ruturaj Gaikwad departing in the first over. Ishan Kishan smashed 34 off 21 and stitched together a small partnership with Shreyas Iyer but that too did not last long. After Ishan fell, captain Rishabh Pant was dismissed by Keshav Maharaj. Soon, India lost Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer, leaving India at 98/5.
But Shreyas Iyer’s 40 off 35 was a crucial as he anchored from one end as India kept losing wickets from the other. However, he fell short of his half-century as he was dismissed by Dwayne Pretorius.

While Rishabh Pant played the gamble of sending Axar Patel ahead of Dinesh Karthik, it did not work out well. Axar managed 11-ball 10 before he was cleaned up by Delhi Capitals teammate Anrich Nortje. It was 36-run stand off 18 balls between Dinesh Karthik and Harshal Patel that took India to 148/6.
