In the previous game, he smashed a quick firing half-century off just 33 deliveries to help rescue his side from a tough spot. Despite his heroics, India ended up falling short in the run chase as South Africa went away with the win in Lucknow. In the 2nd ODI, however, both Iyer and Kishan helped the Men in Blue to chase the target set by the Proteas.
Shreyas Iyer made the headlines after failing to make it to the India squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. Despite being given plenty of chances to prove his worth, Iyer failed to impress the selectors and thus was subsequently dropped from the India squad.
However, now with his current form, Iyer is constantly asking questions to the BCCI selectors about his exclusion from the India squad. India will play the third and final ODI against South Africa on 11th October in Delhi.
