David Miller New Nickname: Killer-Miller and Van der Dussen do the job for South Africa –

  • David Miller and his partner Rassie van der Dussen chased down a record 126 runs remaining in the last 10 overs.
  • David Miller once again came good for the cause in the first T20I vs India at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi playing a blistering 64* off just 31 balls while his teammates struggled on a tricky surface.
  • Miller hit four fours and five sixes in the course of his innings and chased down the 126 runs remaining in the final 10 overs of the game.

The dressing room was then seen giving David Miller an ovation for his form as he has been seen in a purple patch of form.

Ready to bat at any position- Speaking after the match, the David Miller spoke about how he turned things around after a massive dip in his promising career which almost ended his reputation as a finisher.

“Belief (one thing that has transformed his career). Understanding winning more games and more consistency gives you more belief. I am pretty open to bat anywhere. Just want to make a difference,” Miller said.

“Obviosuly a lot of hard work has gone in over the last few years understanding my game a lot better.” Miller added.

South Africa ready to stamp their authority on Indian soil-

  • While the Indian batters didn’t put a step wrong in terms of batting, however, it was the opposition batters who made the difference.
  • Earlier they had won the ODI series on South African soil in January and will now try to stamp their authority on Indian soil.
  • David Miller and Rassie van der Dussen were the chief architects of the win for South Africa as the latter ended with unbeaten 75 runs.
  • For India, only Avesh Khan was the only bowler who ended in single figures for Economy as the rest of the bowlers were hammered.

On the horizon, India will now eye for revenge as they try to bounce back. The second T20I will be played in Cuttack on Sunday, June 12.
