Insidesport

1. KL Rahul vs Kagiso Rabada

India’s stand-in-captain KL Rahul is coming off yet another 600-plus runs in the IPL 2022 season. Mr. dependable Rahul also led LSG well. He has good form and confidence heading into the T20 series against South Africa. The 30-year-old is very versatile and can hit the ball through all parts of the ground. He can play the anchor role to perfection. The skipper though has to be watchful against Kagiso Rabada.

The premier fast bowler was also seen in good form for PBKS as he picked up 23 wickets at an economy rate of 8.46. Rahul and Rabada will be facing first time in international cricket. But in IPL, the South African pacer has got better of him two times, including a wicket in this year’s IPL as well.

  1. Bhuvneshwar Kumar vs Quinton de Kock

Rahul’s opening partner at LSG Quinton de Kock also had a fruitful IPL. The Southpaw scored 508 runs at an average of 36.29 and a strike rate of 149.97. De Kock looked in fine touch and took the attack to the opposition. If the opening batter score runs, then South Africa win most often than not. De Kock though has to be watchful against Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Kumar is India’s power-play enforcer and is pretty economical conceding just 7.34 runs per over. The right-arm pacer is pretty with smart with his variations also. Kumar has also got the better of his counterpart two times in international cricket.

  1. Yuzvendra Chahal vs Temba Bavuma

India’s leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is in superb form. He picked up 27 wickets and also won the purple cap award. The RR spinner was super effective in the power play and managed to trouble batters with googlies. Chahal will look to continue with the same momentum against South Africa. Up against Chahal will SA skipper Bavuma, who is a good player of spin.

The right-hand batter also managed to do well against India’s spinners during the ODI series earlier in South Africa. Bavuma scores his runs at s fast clip and will look to attack Chahal.

RCB’s go-to death overs bowler Harshal Patel yet again delivered the goods for his side in IPL 2022. He was smart with variations and was flummoxed quite a few batters with slower balls and cutters. The pacer picked up 19 wickets. Patel will look to do some damage against South Africa. However, up against him will be a rampaging David Miller.

The GT finisher scored a colossal 481 runs at an impressive strike rate of 143. The southpaw looked calm and composed in all situations. He finished matches for his team by mixing caution with aggression. This battle will be fascinating to watch.
