The hosts had to opt for indoor practice as the SuperSport Park, Centurion had to be covered due to rain.

“It’s good to be back. We got a bit of rain around so we haven’t been able to go into the middle. But the guys have been putting in the work indoors and hopefully, we have some time in the nets. We still have some time before the 1st Test. We will build it up slowly and steadily,” Rassie van der Dussen had said in a video released by CSA in the morning.

Proteas aim to exploit home conditions:

There has been rain around in Centurion and is expected to hamper both teams’ preparations going forward as well. Apart from it, thick cloud covers and thunderstorm is also forecasted on the first two days of the Boxing Day Test which means typical overseas overcast conditions will be one of the biggest threat for the touring Indian camp.

Earlier, speaking about the challenges Indian batters would face in South Africa, Dean Elgar had earlier said that it will be tough for the tourists to face South Africa bowling attack, especially in the overcast conditions, and they are hopeful they can use the home advantage pretty well against Kohli’s side.

“We will feel a lot more accustomed to our own conditions. Hopefully, we can use that to our advantage. We know it will be tough but it will be tough for the India batters to face our attack as well,” Dean Elgar said during a virtual press conference.
