After making his debut in Cape Town in 2018, Jasprit Bumrah arrived at the same venue as the leader of India’s pace attack. He did play as one with 5/42, he helped India take a slender 14-run first-innings lead. Keegan Petersen with 72 was the lone ranger for South Africa as Indian pacers fought back after India’s 223-run first-innings total.

Jasprit Bumrah gave India the perfect start on Day 2. On the second ball of the day, he cleaned up Aiden Markram’s stumps with a pitch-perfect delivery as Proteas were down to 17/2. But South Africa have mounted a fine comeback in what has been an even 1st session on Day 2. Keegan Petersen and Rassie van der Dussen rescued the Proteas from 45/3 with a fine 55-run partnership to take the hosts 111/3.

After Dussen, Keegan Petersen and Temba Bavuma played a crucial 47-run stand. But Mohammed Shami’s twin wickets in one over did the damage. While Petersen tried to steady the ship, India kept on chipping away wickets as Jasprit Bumrah completed the formalities. He returned with 5/42 to give India a slender 13 run lead as South Africa were bowled out for 209.
