While it was thought that Pant would go on and build a solid partnership with former skipper Virat Kohli, Pant managed to survive just 12 deliveries where he managed to score 14 runs. Loose contact with the ball saw Pant tossing the ball to the backward point area where Asif Ali makes no mistake in taking a very easy catch.
