India, led by Rohit Sharma enjoyed a near-perfect ICC T20 World Cup campaign but their journey came to a abrupt end as England crushed them by 10 wickets in the semi-final to knock them out of the tournament.
A transition was seen happening in the India T20I set-up even before this World Cup, with many youngsters getting opportunities to play in different series as key senior players were rested. That transition is expected to kick off once again as many senior players could be seen making way for the young guns in this format, starting from the NZ tour.
The likes of Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, and Prithvi Shaw have shown what they are capable of doing in this format and one might see them becoming vital cogs of the India batting line-up in the future. The next T20 World Cup will be played in the Caribbean and the United States in 2024. So, the transition has to start immediately if India want to go into the tournament with a settled team.
