India’s vice-captain KL Rahul and Delhi Capitals star Shreyas Iyer were seen hitting balls with baseball bats in practice, perfecting their bat swing before the match. Shreyas Iyer was named in the XI for the IND vs NZ 1st T20I, alongside debutant Venkatesh Iyer. New captain Rohit Sharma backed Bhuvneshwar Kumar to lead the pace attack, alongside Deepak Chahar and Mohammed Siraj. KL Rahul, who was promoted to the role of vice-captain in the aftermath of Kohli’s resignation, will open the batting alongside Rohit Sharma, while Iyer is expected to play as a floater in the middle order.
