IND vs NZ Live: Kane Williamson & Co in dual practice mode – One has to laud New Zealand’s determination. Just days after playing the T20 World Cup final, the squad is in India to play T20s but the Kane Williamson & Co both squads have already begun practising for the Test series. In fact, Tim Southee who is leading NZ in the T20 series is also practising with the red-cherry for the Test series in the morning. Follow India vs New Zealand Live Updates on InsideSport.in.
While Kane Williamson and Kyle Jamieson are the two Kiwi stars who pulled out of the T20 series to concentrate on the two Tests, Tim Southee will be playing in both. In a video shared by New Zealand Cricket, Tim Southee, Kane Williamson and Kyle Jamieson were seen sweating it out in Ranchi ahead of their crucial 2nd T20, which could decide the series in India’s favour.

While two different New Zealand squads are in India, the joint squad had practice sessions in Jaipur and as the squad flew to Ranchi for the 2nd T20, the Test specialists got a hang of the red SG ball.
In the last few months, Kiwis have only played in either Dukes or Kookaburra in Tests. A part of the Test squad arrived in Jaipur days ahead of the 1st T20 to get acclimatised to the conditions. They were joined by skipper Kane Williamson and others from the T20 World Cup.

The early and additional practice the Kiwis are putting in is to win the maiden Test series in India. Since their first tour in 1955, New Zealand have never won a Test series on Indian soil. In the last two series — in 2016 and 2012 — the Kiwis lost all the matches.
They struggled to contain India’s spin attack while their swing specialist fast bowlers could not create their magic. However, the team is resurgent and will be bolstered by their World Test Championship win and series win in England.
With Kane Williamson, Kyle Jamieson and Tim Southee in form, they could deal a blow to India especially with Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami missing from India’s squad.
New Zealand players share their experience of playing in India
