- Suryakumar has represented India in 17 ODI matches.
- In those games, he has amassed 388 runs at an average of almost 30.
- Just like in T20s, the right-handed batter does not let the bowlers settle. Yadav plays at a strike rate of 100.52.
- He also has stroked two fifties in the 50-over format with 64 being his highest.
UPDATE – Team India batter Shreyas Iyer has been ruled out of the upcoming 3-match ODI series against New Zealand due to a back injury.

Suryakumar has already shown the world how lethal he can be when it comes to the T20 format, but now he will have to make name for himself in the 50-over format. Iyer, who was one of India’s steady ODI batters in 2022, failed to convert his starts against Sri Lanka, managing only scores of 28, 28, and 38 in the three games. The below-par show has put Iyer’s place in the ODI setup in jeopardy while creating an opportunity for Suryakumar Yadav to cement his place in the side and assist another middle-order hard-hitter Hardik Pandya in adding the firepower at the back-end.
